As it turns out, Jimmy Fallon blew his chances of dating Nicole Kidman not once but twice! During another appearance on The Tonight Show, Kidman revealed that Fallon had a second chance to ask her out but completely blew it off.
“We were at David Fincher’s house,” the Big Little Lies star recounted. “It was when Brad and Jen were still together, so it was a long time ago. And you could’ve asked for my number then cause it was round two, well, second chance. And you still didn’t ask for it!”
For a moment, Fallon couldn’t seem to remember their second meeting, so Kidman went on to explain what happened. “My agent had said, ‘Jimmy’s gonna be there and you’ll see he can ask for your number,’” Kidman recalled. “We were lurking in the kitchen and everyone and everyone went out and I’m, like, waiting and waiting and waiting, and you’re at the buffet. And this is so true and you know it! And you still didn’t ask for my number.” Kidman was clearly upset about this.

Nicole had no hesitation exposing her failed dating attempt with Jimmy, and it clearly still bothers him to this day.
However, Fallon was completely shocked by the revelation. He revealed that he was oblivious to the fact that Kidman had a crush on him and never intended to reject her. He never thought he stood a chance with her.
“So 2002, I'm single, but I don't think about this remotely, my chances of dating [her], I think she was named most beautiful person that year! So this is beyond my understanding,” Fallon revealed in an interview.

However, Fallon had completely different expectations of their first meeting. According to the late-night talk show host, when his friend Rick called to tell him he was bringing Kidman over to meet at his apartment, Fallon thought it would be a business meeting.
“I thought [she'd come over] for this movie she was doing, Bewitched, which Will Ferrell ended up getting [...] I thought it was a chemistry thing,” Fallon told Deadline, admitting that he felt completely blindsided by Kidman’s revelation, as it never occurred to him that they were on a date.
