From Which Background Does Hozier Belong?
Hozier is the son of Raine Hozier-Byrne, an artist and John Byrne, a local blues drummer who had a day job working at a bank. Andrew John Hozier-Byrne was born on March 17, 1990, in Bray, County Wicklow.
He was raised in County Wicklow, close to Delgany. Hozier once described himself as a “class clown” and a “unfocused student” and described school as a “monotonous nightmare” when he was younger. He once had a job cleaning the restrooms at a golf club, which he regarded as a “good experience of hard work”.
