Flavor Fav has revealed his genetic ties to one of Hip-Hop’s biggest groups. During an interview with HipHopDX, the veteran artist discussed his family tree.

“In the Wu-Tang Clan, I have three blood family members that a lot don’t even know,” shared the Public Enemy representative. “RZA, GZA, and ODB. ODB was my cousin.”

He continued to detail his memories of Ol’ Dirty Bastard before his untimely death.

“Yes, I do have a favorite memory of ODB,” began the 64-year-old.

“The last time that I was with ODB was in Aspen, CO. We did a gig together, and this was one week before he passed away. It was never a convo to have me part of the group, because they were always doing their thing and I was always doing my thing. But then we came together and did our thing.”

In 2022, the documentary Biography: Ol’ Dirty Bastard was announced by A&E networks with the approval of ODB’s widow, Icelene Jones. The project has exclusive rights to unseen archival footage from Jones and is described as the first of its kind.

ODB, born Russell Jones in November 1968, died in November 2004 of a drug-induced heart attack.

“I am thrilled to tell the full story of my husband,” shared Jones. “With this documentary, the world will learn about the son, husband, father, and artist. I’m proud of the team that we built, including Pulse, my production partners Nicole Beckett and Messiah Jacobs at Four Screens, and our directing team, the Pollards.”
